Scott Van Pelt is America born Sports newscaster and media personality. He is presently affiliated with ESPN where he co-hosts the SportsCenter. Apart from this he is also co-anchor of SVP & Russillo of ESPN Radio. He is seen hosting and presenting numerous golf actions for the channel. He was born in Maryland to father Sam Van Pelt and mother Cathie Mathis in the year 1967. He was brought up in Washington, D.C. He attended Sherwood High School and completed his high School Degree from there. Later he went to University of Maryland to study Radio/Television Broadcasting and film. He also was the member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity on his university days. He was very fond of golf as a result he forced his mother to buy satellite home dish to watch golf games as the Golf Channel had not provided the frequency on his hometown. Due to his height he was offered to play Basketball on Walk-on Position but he refused to play due to his passion for Golf.


Knowing his professional life, he started his career as sports news reporter of WTTG-TV which is a Fox affiliated channel of Washington D.C. In the year 1990 he left the channel to work for Golf Channel. After working for 4 years as sports news reporter he in 1994 was promoted as studio anchor of the game broadcasts. He was the host of network’s key game broadcasts. In 2000 after working for a decade with the channel he left the channel. In 2001 he was appointed by ESPN as anchor of SportsCenter. He these days is termed as the top golf reporter for which he reports major tourneys of golf. Apart from TV he is also key anchor of ESPN radio where he co-anchored the radio’s famous show Tirico and Van Pelt together with Mike Tirico. Later the program was called off and he was given new program The Scott Van Pelt Show in 2009. This three hour talk show was renamed as SVP & Russillo in the year 2012. He also acts as host of Friday Night College Football show on ESPN network. He is featured in various Golf video games as commentator. He is highlighted in video games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and 11. Reportedly he has acquired the fortune which includes the net worth of 16 million dollar with the help of his 2 million dollar salary per annum.
