Yes. The active suspect in the Independence Day march in Highland Park Bobby Crimo is an amateur rapper and songwriter.

Crimo has released several videos that are full of dark disturbing themes. He released the songs under his stage name, Awake the Rapper. His two songs have more than one million streams on Spotify. 

Crimo's first song "By the Pond" which was released in 2016 gained over three million streams but it was later removed.

The suspect's song "On my Mind" where he is seen holding an American flag and rapping in an empty classroom is also quite pestering. 

In an animated cartoon song "Toy Soldier" by the rapper, he can be seen rapping with images of a heavy-armed shooter opening fire inside the school. it ends with the shooter lying in the blood. 

The shooter Bobby Crimo belongs to a family from the Highland Park area who have been there for a long time. 

Bobby's father Robert Primo II ran for mayor of Highland Park in 2009 but he lost after which he began his own small business.

One of his neighbors reported to The Daily Beast that they never had a brief interaction with the boy. He seemed to be quiet yet anxious and would just ride or drive around the park. 

The suspect's social media pages have been removed and his YouTube channel has also been removed. But some of his songs still remain on some platforms. 

The suspect Crimo who was involved in the Highland Park Shooting is only 22 years old. 

He is a boy in his twenties from Illinois who makes dark videos and raps. He has tattoos all over his body and marks underneath his eyes.

Bobby was taken into police custody after being identified. He opened the fire at around 10 am just 10 minutes after he was seen in the parade. He was taken by the police seven hours after the incident.
