Eric Greitens had an adulterous relationship with his hairstylist in 2015.

Eric Greitens claims that a 2018 report by the Missouri House Special Investigative Committee on Oversight, which found the woman's allegations credible, has been rejected.

Greitens is an American far-right politician, author, and former Navy SEAL who served as the 56th governor of Missouri from January 2017 till his resignation in June 2018 over sexual assault claims and campaign finance irregularities.

The lady told legislators that what started as a crush on future Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens turned into a series of sexual encounters in 2015 in which he grabbed, slapped, shoved, insulted, and threatened her, leaving her crying and scared.

Greitens has denied being abusive or threatening, insisting that the months-long affair was consensual and that it was a "personal mistake" done before his election. He has referred to the legislative panel's investigation as a "political witch hunt."

The woman's story was revealed in a disturbing report issued Wednesday by a group of House members considering impeachment proceedings against Greitens. If her account is correct, she was threatened by one guy — Greitens — and deceived by another — her ex-husband, who covertly taped a conversation in which she detailed her first sexual contact with Greitens and delivered it to a television station.

She's also been unknowingly dragged into a highly political process that could result in attacks on her reputation and credibility. And all of this has happened despite the fact that she has never been publicly recognized, has never gone to the police, and has never requested an investigation.

Greitens was charged with felony invasion of privacy by a grand jury in St. Louis on February 22, 2018. He was released on his own recognizance and did not appear in court for the first time.

Eric Greitens Releases a Gun-Toting Video

Former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens released a video on Monday depicting him and a gang of men in tactical gear with rifles chasing down Republicans who aren't conservative enough, ratcheting up the war-like tone of his Senate campaign.

Greitens, a Republican, is seen on the video carrying a rifle and identifying himself as a Navy SEAL. He claims to be on the lookout for RINOs, or "Republicans in Name Only."

The video was released in the wake of two high-profile mass shootings and as Congress looks to be making headway on gun violence legislation. Republicans and Democrats reached an agreement last week on a bipartisan framework for legislation addressing mental health, school safety, and making it more difficult for young people to obtain a gun.

His campaign did not respond to a request for comment right away. It's unclear whether the video was made just for fundraising on Twitter or if it would be broadcast on television.

From 2011 to 2020, Eric Greitens was married to Sheena Elise Chestnut. They have two sons together.

Greitens' marriage to Rebecca Wright, his first wife, was terminated in divorce in 2003.

Eric Greitens and Sheena Greitens confirmed their divorce on April 11, 2020. Sheena Greitens announced shortly after that she had taken a position as an associate professor of political science at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

She is particularly interested in East Asia, US national security, authoritarian politics, and foreign policy.

In a signed statement filed in 2022, Greitens' ex-wife accused him of physical violence during their marriage, including "cuffing our then-3-year-old son across the face at the dinner table," and claimed that as a result of the abuse, "measures were taken to limit his access to guns."
