Fashion has taken over the world. No matter what corner of the world we live in, fashion is incorporated into the culture in different ways.

Whether it is high fashion or just basic fashion, we can all agree that fashion has been engraved into our lives. Likewise, there are different types of fashion and different types of shows that showcase fashion.

From supermodels to most known designers, everyone plays a part in these fashion shows. Two of the most renowned fashion shows to exist are New York Fashion week and Paris fashion week, where several high-end designers showcase their brands and products through super-models on a runway.

Fashion shows are often held for the designers to showcase the products they are going to launch. Not always a fashion week, and sometimes designers hold different events and red-carpet events where the models take up the runways and photoshoots to promote the brands and products to the public.

Victoria's Secret Fashion show is one of the world's most renowned fashion shows. The fashion show was first introduced in  New York City on August 1, 1995, at the Plaza Hotel. The runway, which included seventeen models, was dominated by shimmering undergarments and tiny slips. Although the models' racial and cultural backgrounds varied, they all had the same physical characteristics right away: long, lean bodies that were considered to be "ideal."

The fashion show also helped in boosting several models' careers in the fashion industry. The Plaza Hotel hosted the next three fashion shows, which each featured a similar lineup of models and lingerie displays. Baby doll-inspired lingerie predominated most of the runway in the 1996 presentation.

Early shows were exclusively streamed to the public and were sometimes challenging to connect to and were criticized for their low quality. The program started to stray away from its original direction and into what we currently know it as in 1998. In addition to lingerie, models wearing costumes were now featured in the presentation. Wings initially appeared on a runway in this particular year.

By 1999, wings had taken center stage in the performance, with underwear representing just a small portion of the elaborate costumes on exhibit. Additionally, this show was the first broadcast by a webcam. The yearly event broke with tradition in 2000 and relocated to Cannes, France as part of the Cannes Film Festival. The Cinema Against AIDS charity received 3.5 million dollars from the event, which was held to collect money for the organization.

It did not take Victoria's Secret fashion show to become reputable worldwide. Soon it became one of the most renowned fashion shows in the world.

9. Pitti Immagine Uomo

Pitti Immagine Uomo is also one of the world's biggest fashion shows. Giorgini organized the event at Villa Torrigiani, his home in Florence, which was originally dubbed the "First Italian High Fashion Show." Designers from all around the world were invited to see the newest Italian designs.

The event's venue changed twice, and the name was finally changed to "Pitti Uomo." First to Florence's Grand Hotel in 1972, and then in 1982 to the Fortezza da Basso are the places where it is being held today. Pitti Uomo has developed as the city's center for fashion over the past 50 years.

The twice-yearly event, known as "menswear mecca," is the biggest menswear trade expo of its type. 30,000 representatives of the global menswear market, including buyers, exhibitors, journalists, and spectators, congregate in Florence twice a year for four days of outstanding fashion. Their twice-yearly appearance ushers in the new season and is crucial for initiating new initiatives in men's fashion and establishing emerging trends.

An occasion that transformed men's wear is at the center of worldwide fashion innovation. Pitti Uomo, which steers clear of heteronormative clothing, highlights various designers that prioritize creative freedom. Some of the fashions, such as boxy designs and the use of dark hues, even had androgynous undertones.

The Renaissance era is when Florence first became recognized for producing high-quality, specialized, hand-made items, such as delicate straw baskets and beautiful leather. At that time, Florence had a significant creative effect. The fashion show became a platform to showcase all of these brands and their innovative ideas.

For those who love fashion, the Met Gala has taken on the status of a vacation. To generate money for the Costume Institute of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, celebrities gather there dressed in one-of-a-kind outfits. Since its origins in the 1940s, a lot has changed, including the exclusivity of attendance and the extensive planning that goes into constructing the attire for the occasion.

Met Gala or just the Gala, has long been the topic of conversation among attendees. The Met Gala typically takes place on the first Monday of May. According to Vogue, the Met Gala is a fundraising event that raises money for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The Met Gala has gained international notoriety and becomes a cultural phenomenon.

Only those people who are invited can attend this VIP celebration. Even if you really want to go, you can't just buy a ticket for a new car or a plane ticket since someone needs to pay for it. In essence, it takes something quite exceptional for someone to attend the Met Gala.

Irene Lewisohn, a theatrical producer, and Aline Bernstein, a theater designer, lay the groundwork for the Met Gala over a century ago. They organize a dinner that will also include a variety of fashion collections intended to serve as inspiration for other fashion designers or theatrical productions.

Eleanor Lambert, a fashion publicist and the creator of the Design Council, staged the Met Gala for the first time in 1948. The meal took place in December. Up until 1971, the venues of choice were the Rainbow Room, Central Park, and the Waldorf Astoria. With the introduction of Architectural Digest and the advent of Vogue editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland in the 1970s, the Met Gala became even more complex.

CFDA Fashion Awards are known as the Oscars of Fashion and it is a very reputable event in the fashion industry. The CFDA devotes its efforts to helping the American fashion sector expand. It covers every stage of the designer lifecycle, from student to graduate to early emerging professional to the seasoned expert.

The CFDA hosts the CFDA Fashion Awards every year in collaboration with Swarovski. During the awards ceremony, individuals from all facets of the fashion business and allied arts are honored for their extraordinary contributions to American fashion. Each award category is nominated by the CFDA Fashion Awards Guild, an invitation-only group of elite fashion retailers, journalists, stylists, influencers, and the guild's 500+ member designers.

The honorary award nominees and winners are chosen by the CFDA Board of Directors. One of the CFDA's main initiatives is the organization of New York Fashion Week. Throughout the course of New York Fashion Week, the CFDA continues to cultivate talent through advancing research and advancements.

The CFDA collaborated with Launchmetrics on a recent research titled Front Row to Consumer: The Voices Driving Fashion Week in Today's Digital Era, which examined how businesses can use their time and money more effectively in the dynamic NYFW environment. The foundations of the New York Fashion Week ecosystem continue to be diversity, education, corporate growth, and creative expression.

6. Shanghai Fashion Week

Shanghai Fashion Week also takes place twice a year like every other fashion week. The first fashion week that was held exclusively online was likely Shanghai Week. The event was held on Tmall, the online marketplace of Chinese e-commerce juggernaut Alibaba, after it was first postponed following the coronavirus epidemic in China.

The "fashion week in the cloud," which was born out of necessity, combined runway performances with entertaining teleshopping and, most of all, showed how Alibaba's Livestream-shopping functions. To attend Shanghai Fashion Week, you didn't need to be a VIP, journalist, or any VIP-type person.

To view the exhibits of more than 150 designers and businesses, all you needed was a working knowledge of the Chinese language and a Tmall customer account. In addition to quick fashion store H&M and up-and-coming Chinese designers like Shushu Tong and Angel Chen, US fashion company Diane von Furstenberg also unveiled her collection.

Shanghai Fashion Week provided a digital test case for one of the most tangible and holy fashion rituals at a time when shows and trade fairs are being canceled and postponed, from Pitti Uomo to the fashion weeks in Paris and Milan. But more importantly, the March 26–30 digital displays showed how consumers might be integrated into the fashion industry.

5. Tokyo Fashion Week

Tokyo Fashion Week is hosted by Japan Fashion Week Organization. Fashion Week is a celebration of catwalk shows, pop-up stores, and press junkets that highlights trends for the following season. Tokyo Fashion Week is held twice a year in the world's main fashion cities, New York, London, Milan, and Paris.

The four fashion capitals dominate the couture debate despite the existence of other smaller Fashion Weeks, such as those in Tokyo and Buenos Aires. This is mostly because of their long histories and the constant hype around them. Tokyo, on the other hand, has been moving up the social scale since 2005 and is attempting to include the "Big 5" in the group.

As Mercedes-Benz sponsored the event for more than ten seasons, the fashion week in Tokyo was given the official name Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo. However, Amazon took over in late 2016 and changed the name of the event to Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo. It takes place twice a year, in March for the A/W collection and in October for the S/S season.

The majority of the 2017 A/W runway events are taking place in Shibuya's Hikarie building, with a few pop-up shops and side shows in other renowned fashion districts like Omotesando, Roppongi, and Ginza. This is despite the fact that the streets of Tokyo are bustling with designers, models, stylists, buyers, and photographers.

Tokyo is charming in its own right. Tokyo Fashion Week frequently focuses on fusing seemingly incompatible ideas: high-end labels with urban streetwear, or traditional Japanese style with contemporary Western trends.

4. Milan Fashion Week

The organization Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italia has been in charge of organizing Italian Fashion Week, which takes place twice a year in Milan.  Prior to Paris Fashion Week (1973) and London Fashion Week (1984), Milan Fashion Week was established in 1958. New York Fashion Week was established in 1943 under the moniker "Press Week," but it wasn't until 1993 that it was formally renamed New York Fashion Week.

Before Milan became the home of the Italian fashion week, Giovanni Battista Giorgini's runway in Florence in 1951 served as its first event. For the first time, buyers, journalists, and photographers from all around the world were able to view the runways.
Prior to it, the Italian runways were converted into tiny fashion companies or warehouses, but Giorgini gave Italian fashion a global reputation.

Around the Gattamelata street fair area, in 1958, Milan Fashion Week officially started.  High fashion, which was also pushed by the renowned Fellini films, gave the Roman catwalks significance in the late 1960s. Rome swiftly emerged as the center of high fashion, posing a threat to Paris' primacy in the field.

The Milan catwalks are where this revolutionary movement got its start. Since then, the Milan Fashion Week has grown to be one of the most significant worldwide events, showcasing the latest spring-summer and fall-winter trends from the most prestigious Italian businesses twice a year.

3. Paris Fashion Week

To see what they'll be wearing the following year, hundreds of fashion editors, assistants, stylists, models, and other stylish people converge on the French city. As one of the "Big 4," Paris Fashion Week has the privilege of hosting the grand finale of each of the city's biannual fashion events.

For the exhibiting designers, Paris Fashion Week, like New York, London, and Milan, is the climax of weeks and weeks of effort; nevertheless, for the editors and journalists who will write about it, the job has only begun. Semaine des Createurs du Mode is the official French name for Paris Fashion Week, and contemporary fashion weeks are held in the Carrousel du Louvre in line with this slightly pompous title.

Typically, the city has approximately 100 shows in total, from well-known fashion businesses to lesser-known ones. The purpose of Paris Fashion Week is to demonstrate to the industry what trends are in and which ones are unquestionably out. Men's Fashion, Haute Couture, and Prêt-à-Porter are the three subcategories of Paris Fashion Week.

Only the very few fashion firms that satisfy the stringent requirements may claim to have Haute Couture collections since the phrase haute couture is protected in France.

2. London Fashion Week

The first London Fashion Week was held in October 1983. The British Fashion Council and London Development Agency organized every aspect of the event, including phoning the designers and choosing the location. The organization of this exhibition was spearheaded by the Department for Business, Skills, and Innovation with the intention of highlighting London's fashion talent.

Traders began supporting the performance after the first occurrence because they saw it as a chance to sell their goods. The event is currently being funded by important charitable investors including Mercedes-Benz and Toni & Guy. The blogging community is supported by London Fashion Week. 2,000 bloggers signed up with the show in 2014 alone in order to broadcast the show's material to a global audience.

Videos and pictures from the performance are provided to the fans so that fans who are unable to attend may receive a complete rundown of the whole event. In order to preserve all the outstanding fashion designs from the most innovative designers featured in the exhibition, the British Fashion Council launched a fashion store.

The expo is thought to draw more than 5,000 guests annually, and it generates orders worth £100 million, which is beneficial for London as a whole. Because of its economic importance, even the authorities help the performance run smoothly.

New York Fashion Week is held every September 9–14, 2022. In-person, New York Fashion Week will take place in 2022, just like it did in 2018. The primary office will be in Spring Studios at 50 Varick Street, but designers intend to organize runway events all throughout the city.

In 1993, under Fern Mallis, the Council of Fashion Designers of America's then Executive Director, the exhibitions in New York were first combined in one spot. Even then, "New York Fashion Week" wasn't used to describe the events. The Council of Fashion Designers of America, the organization in charge of New York Fashion Week, will broadcast all runway shows on its Runway 360 digital hub, so the fans do not need to worry if they can't attend in person.

Throughout the week, you may anticipate fashion companies to stream live videos of their own shows on social media. Shows for the general public and the industry are both categories included in NYFW. All eyes are often on Tommy Hilfiger, AREA, and PUMA, three companies making their respective New York Fashion Week comebacks.

In 1993, under Fern Mallis, the Council of Fashion Designers of America's then Executive Director, the exhibitions in New York were first combined in one spot (an organization founded by Eleanor Lambert). Even then, "New York Fashion Week" wasn't used to describe the events. They adopted the name "7th on Sixth" from the CFDA-founded "7th on Sixth" event management firm.
